We are thrilled to announce the first release of events for the Law Week 2020 program is now available. There are online and remote events from organisations across the state to inform, assist and entertain you, wherever you may be.
With webinars, interviews, information sessions, free legal advice, podcasts and plenty more, Law Week makes learning about the law easy for all Victorians.
‘This year we are celebrating the 40th anniversary of Law Week, and the festival is more important than ever’, said VLF Executive Director Lynne Haultain.
‘In a time of deep uncertainty and change, it is important for Victorians to have access to vital information about their legal rights and responsibilities – and that’s what Law Week delivers.
‘In a first for the festival, our entire program will be delivered remotely. I congratulate all our event partners in making extraordinary effort to deliver important information and advice to Victorians in new and innovative ways.’
Information and advice on the issues we face
The program covers a broad range of issues, from how to make your first will, understanding how COVID-19 impacts parenting arrangements and employment law, to updates to the Guardianship Act, and how all of this affects you.
From Monday 18 May, we’ll also present an abundance of on-demand content, including interviews with legal and community experts on the legal issues that Victorians are facing today – like housing, employment and family law.
And much more
Learn how to copyright your craft or how to make freelancing your #sidehustle, explore a virtual art exhibition, and uncover the legal implications of monkey selfies. Whether you’re a lawyer, an artist, a parent, a worker, an interested citizen, all of the above or none, there’s something for you at Law Week 2020.
