Congratulations to our General Grants recipients for 2016/17. We are pleased to announce that we awarded five grants for projects aimed at helping people better understand the law.

Here's a list of the recipient organisations and a summary of each project:

Law Week events

Building on their successful Talking Justice program, Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre will again host a series of public presentations on topical law and justice issues.

Tarwirri Indigenous Law Students and Lawyers Association will present Deadly Law Week - a week of programming to promote and raise awareness of legal and policy issues affecting the Indigenous community in Victoria.

Legal information projects

Federation of Community Legal Centres has received funding to redevelop its website to better engage and communicate with the community and the 49 community legal centres across Victoria.

Council on the Ageing Victoria will produce Death of a partner - a resource for the surviving partner and family to navigate the legal notification procedures and processes required by government departments, local government, utility companies.

Moonee Valley Legal Service will develop a new web tool, FineFixer, which will help users understand their fines and get the assistance they require.
