Applications for our 2022/23 Community Legal Grants are now open
Up to $20,000 for community projects improving civil legal understanding or access to justice.

Community Legal Grants offer up to $20,000 for projects support people in Victoria to better understand civil legal issues or help to navigate the Victorian justice system.
The grants provide funding for community-based projects that meet a demonstrated legal need which could be:
- developing a resource, tool or series of workshops that address a legal issue for a specific community
- piloting a project that offers an innovative approach to delivering legal information
- trialing a strategy to gain further insights to replicate in existing programs or services.
Applications are open to community legal and not-for-profit organisations including:
- community legal centres
- community organisations with an internal legal service
- not-for-profit organisation in partnership with a legal service.
Applications are open until Monday 6 March 2023 at 5pm and are submitted via our online portal.

Funded by Community Legal Grants
Peninsula Community Legal Centre set out to help culturally and linguistically diverse women increase their legal literacy by using a Community Legal Grant to deliver tailored community legal education in a range of formats.
We were able to experiment with different modes of online engagement to understand how people prefer to participate. This included webinars, radio interviews, social media posts, as well as joining existing community groups not commonly accessed by the community legal sector
